Job Description

SRHS is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual for the position of Director of Corporate Integrity.  The Director of Corporate Integrity reports to the SRHS VP, Corporate Integrity and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Integrity Department and implementation of the SRHS Compliance Program.  The Director of Corporate Integrity, in consultation with the VP, Corporate Integrity, monitors the organization’s adherence to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, the SRHS Compliance Program, Guide of Integrity and SRHS policies and procedures. The Director of Corporate Integrity, in consultation with the VP, Corporate Integrity develops, implements and updates the Guide of Integrity and policies and procedures to implement the Compliance Program and its related activities to detect and prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.  The Director of Corporate Integrity, in consultation with the VP, Corporate Integrity, collaborates with other departments to evaluate, investigate and resolve potential billing concerns and alleged violations of laws, regulations, and SRHS policies and procedures. 

Minimum Requirements 


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s Degree or Higher in Healthcare, Healthcare Administration or Related Field 


  • Minimum of 5 years’ documented experience as a Director or Manager in a compliance role in a multi-facility healthcare system
  • Minimum of 5 years’ management/supervisory experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of associates
  • Serve as a strong role model in terms of integrity, professionalism, objectivity and confidentiality
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare compliance, privacy, and clinical documentation
  • Possess excellent judgment, analytical and project management skills including strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity
  • Ability to work well within a team environment in support of Department and organizational objectives
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative, trusting relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required, as well as Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems 



Preferred Requirements   

Preferred Education     

  • Juris Doctorate, J.D. preferred but not required 

Preferred Experience    

  • Proficiency in Epic EHR 

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications    

  • Compliance-related certification: Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC); Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC); and/or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP); Other Compliance Certification or eligibility considered

Core Job Responsibilities

  •  Reports to, and serves as a resource for, the VP, Corporate Integrity to further the compliance goals of the Department and the organization
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of the operations of the Corporate Integrity Department including providing appropriate training and support to Department associates and assists with coordination of personnel issues as indicated
  • Coordinates operational support for the implementation of the SRHS Compliance Program and Guide of Integrity
  • Periodically reviews and submits recommended updates of the SRHS Compliance Program and Guide of Integrity to the VP, Corporate Integrity
  • Monitors the SRHS reporting Hotline and coordinates or performs required investigations and closes appropriate reports
  • Supervises, coordinates or performs, as appropriate, required HIPAA investigations consistent with applicable law, regulations and SRHS policies and procedures
  • Ensures monitoring of the Government Sanctions Screening list of Excluded Individuals/Entities and reports any confirmed exclusions to the appropriate parties
  • Supports the VP, Corporate Integrity to ensure all identified compliance issues are appropriately investigated and closed including reporting to duly authorized enforcement agencies when appropriate and as directed by the Office of General Counsel
  • Manages and oversees, in consultation with the VP, Corporate Integrity, an annual risk assessment and development and implementation of an annual Department audit plan and any additional audit initiatives, as appropriate 
  • Assists in the development and implementation of organization-wide programs and policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws as well as regulatory agencies
  • Supervises, organizes and coordinates development of appropriate Department reports including monthly,  quarterly and annual management reports to support the VP, Corporate Integrity and the Department performance and quality metrics
  • Assists with conducting an annual conflict of interest assessment and supervises management of the designated tracking and monitoring systems
  • Implements and manages annual Department budget
  • Supervises, coordinates and participates in the development, as appropriate, of written materials, training and education designed to promote an understanding of compliance to include applicable laws, regulations, SRHS policies and procedures and the consequences of non-compliance
  • Supervises and assists with the annual review of organizational policies and procedures to ensure policies are current and revised as necessary
  • Maintains awareness of applicable federal and state laws and regulations that affect the healthcare environment and the SRHS system
  • Participates in multidisciplinary task forces, committees and projects, demonstrating team building skills and ability to work with different internal customers
  • Communicates appropriate information relevant to compliance issues in a concise, timely and efficient manner
  • Participates in approved conferences, webinars and other professional development activities to maintain certifications and/or remain professional current with advances in areas of responsibility consistent with Department budget  
  • Other special projects and duties, as assigned by the VP, Corporate Integrity

Exposure Level

Category I - Position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues.
Category II -   Position includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned category I tasks.
Category III - Position includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.  This position would never be required to perform category I tasks.
