The Insurance Billing Specialist Team Lead is responsible for all Insurance Team Lead duties with these additional responsibilities:

• Function as a team resource to other associates within the department in regards to billing and/or editing.

• Perform specialized projects for billing

• Ability to lead a team meeting and teach specific tasks or procedures.

• Must be cross trained and functional in all areas of billing and edit management

• Must serve as a trainer for new staff and offer topic update training to established staff.

• Identifies and analyzes payer trends and rejection/edit patterns to improve A/R collections.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Work with management staff to assure policies are up-to-date, are being followed and are up to accurate.

• Other duties as assigned


Required: High school diploma or equivalency Preferred:


Required: • 5 years medical office or medical billing/collections experience in a hospital or centralized billing setting. • Must possess knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9/10 codes. • Must have a good working knowledge with insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) and understanding of remittance and remark codes. • Good working knowledge of multiple payer billing requirements for claims processing • Possess an in-depth working knowledge and experience with all types of insurance billing guidelines: Commercial, Medicare Part A and B, Medicaid, Managed Care plans etc. Preferred: • Experience with multiple specialty billing and collections.


Required: Preferred: CRCA, CPC-H


• Ability to complete detail-oriented work in a timely manner.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Ability to prioritize workload and meet quality and production standards.

• Ability to work well with a variety of people and be a team player.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey a positive and professional image.

• Proficiency in working with MS Excel and other office computer based systems.
