Job Description

The Sr. Employee Relations Specialist provides employees relations and HR general services including providing HR support to managers, supervisors and all associates in the areas of employee relations and related training, policy and procedure administration, and other areas of human resources.  Provides operational duties related to data and metrics within the HR department in order to meet organizational needs.

 Minimum Requirements

Education          

  • Bachelor of Business, Human Resources or related field with a concentration in Human Resources Management studies. 
  • Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational experience. 

 

Experience         

  • Five plus years of progressive experience in employee relations with a strong HR general knowledge of laws, policies, and processes and programs to include FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, EEO, etc. 

 

License/Registration/Certifications         

  • N/A

Assist the Employee Relations Manager with employee-related programs, participates in resolution of employee relations problems, and gathers information on worker attitudes in order to facilitate employee satisfaction by performing the following duties:

  • Provide counseling, coaching, mentoring to employees and management on day to day human resource management administration and existing policies, programs and processes.
  • Maintain and resolve complex employee relation issues.
  • Ensure that SRHS policies and procedures and the interpretation of these policies comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws. Be able to explain governmental rules, regulations, and procedures and the need for adherence to compliance.
  • Partners with all levels of management to develop and maintain operational and human resources strategies.
  • Assists in the development and analysis of Human Resources reports to track necessary organizational metrics including recruitment, retention, and turnover analysis.
  • Develop, coordinate and recommend changes for the improvement of workflow in identified departments.
      
  • Prepares EEOC position statements.
  • Partners with Legal Department (internal and/or external) as required.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Revises and creates policies/procedures that pertain to Human Resources.
  • Develops training programs in response to EEOC claims, employee investigations, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills to work with a variety of individuals.  
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with knowledge of soft office (Word, PowerPoint, excellent proficiency in Excel).
