Job Description

Spartanburg Regional is seeking an IT Pharmacist/PharmD Clinical Analyst.  The IT Pharmacist will design new IT solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity.  Working closely with the customer, he/she examines existing business models and the flows of data in the business to identify opportunities.  

The IT Pharmacist Analyst participates in activities required for successful implementation, maintenance, and support of the administrative, ambulatory, and/or clinical systems while providing on-call coverage as needed. This person will be responsible for supporting the clinical information systems that assist clinicians in the management of medications.  Works as a member of Information Technology (IT) design and implementation teams to build and implement solutions to meet user and SRHS requirements for clinician orders, medication administration, documentation, bar coding, and medication reconciliation. 

Project management tasks include project planning; system design, build and testing; end user training and pre-live planning; and system live and support transition.  Works with consultants and vendors as required. Works closely with help desk, network/technical support, operations and other IS support personnel for troubleshooting and coordinating plans for software upgrades and the installation of new products. 

The IT Pharmacist/PharmD analyst will be a licensed pharmacist or Pharm D with a very strong clinical background and a current license (or eligible) to practice pharmacy in South Carolina. This person will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist until license obtained is required. Minimum 3 to 5 years of related IT experience; IT certification in hospital pharmacy (EPIC Willow preferred).
