Job Description

Position Summary

The IT Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for the refinement and execution of IT asset management processes to ensure a compliant and optimized IT hardware and software environment. Responsible for the physical and administrative duties within the Asset Management function; IT Procurement, software license control and management, stockroom hardware management, inventory audits and cycle counts, hardware distribution, physical and administrative receiving, creates and maintains inventory records in the corporate ERP system, coordinates the recovery of company assets from remote locations.  Disassembles equipment for disposal following department and security policies and procedures.  Creates and maintains job aids, support documentation, and procedures to support job function. Assists in the development and maintenance of policies, standards, processes, systems and measurements that enable the organization to manage the IT Asset Portfolio with respect to risk, cost, control, and compliance and business performance objectives as established by the business. Works in conjunction with the IT Project Coordinator to ensure hardware is available for facility renovations, expansions, acquisitions, etc.   Coordinates the ordering and scheduling of hardware deployment based on availability of hardware and project timeline.   May serve as a backup to the IT Project Coordinator as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • 3-5 years Asset Management Experience

  • Associates Degree in a technical field

Preferred Experience     

  • Previous experience in Information Technology related area

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments to optimize working relationships and communication.
  • Participate in daily, including evenings, on-call support for the medical center’s information services operations.
  • Track and report on the location, description, and associated user information for hardware and software technology assets
  • Establish and manage a centralized IT equipment depot, and ensure stocking levels are sufficient
  • Assist in the receiving, asset tagging, storing, tracking and deployment of IT equipment
  • Serve as the IT lead in audits related to IT assets, including collecting asset information directly and leading asset inventory projects
  • Work closely with business units to manage equipment requests
  • Operates electronic hardware to erase or destroy data from data devices as required to eliminate any data risk on company media.
  • Utilize Remedy software application or other software to automate and optimize asset management processes

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to lift and carry computers, computer monitors and other equipment.
